Prime Minister Narendra Modi is due to host a webinar on Friday on “Energy for Sustainable Growth” comprising the Ministries of Energy, Petroleum and Natural Gas, New and Renewable Energy, Coal, Mines, External Affairs and Environment, Forests and Climate Change.

The webinar will discuss Union Government initiatives in the energy and resource sector, including the 2022 Budget announcements, and generate ideas and suggestions for the effective implementation of these initiatives.

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) in its official statement said that the webinar will have three different sessions. The plenary session from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. would be addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This session will be followed by six thematic sessions in small groups which will take place in parallel from 10:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. The closing session to be held from 2:00 p.m. to 3:10 p.m. will be chaired by Minister of Energy and New and Renewable Energy RK Singh. MNRE will lead the breakout session on “Scaling up Renewable Energy” which will be moderated by Indu Shekhar Chaturvedi, MNRE Secretary and will feature distinguished speakers from the public and private sectors.

The session aims to solicit suggestions from stakeholders and industry leaders to create an ecosystem conducive to manufacturing next-generation solar PV modules and key aspects of building a robust hydrogen economy, a added the press release from the ministry.

Meanwhile, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur will present his government’s fifth and final budget in the House today. On March 3, the budget for the 2022-23 financial year was approved by the Council of Ministers. After presenting the budget in the chamber, it will be discussed and adopted in the chamber on March 15.

Notably, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao will meet his Jharkhand counterpart Hemant Soren today. Rao will embark on a tour of Jharkhand state to deliver on his promise to extend support to the families of Indian Army soldiers who lost their lives in the Galwan Valley clash on the Chinese border.

In this regard, Rao will travel to Ranchi on Friday to hand over the checks of Rs 10 Lakh, to the families of the two Jharkhand soldiers who lost their lives in the clashes, as well as to the Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Hemant Soren, at his official residence in Ranchi.

The Telangana government had extended its support to Col Santosh who lost his life in the Galwan clashes and who belonged to the Telangana. The Chief Minister then announced that the state government would provide assistance to 19 members of the army who were martyred in the same clash. To fulfill its promise, the CM would go to Jharkhand and provide financial assistance to the two martyred Jawans.

Due to the polls in several states the model code of conduct is in place, after the polls the CM will provide assistance to other Jawans who have been martyred in Galwan as promised.
