INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A busy start to Friday was history for those primarily south of Interstate 70 with several severe thunderstorms damaging trees. We would eventually see clearing skies with a gradual decrease in humidity, while still having a warm afternoon. Take advantage of exceptional weather for Father’s Day weekend before the heat and humidity return.
Friday night: A much cooler air mass is expected to settle in with lows finally moving out of the 70s. Numbers are expected to fall to mid 50s to low 60s.
Saturday: After a cool start to Saturday, we will embark on the best weather day of this extended forecast. Abundant sunshine, very low humidity and near average temperatures call for a wonderful Saturday afternoon! The highs will only peak in the upper 70s to the lower 80s.
Fathers Day: The mild weather trend continues until Father’s Day. If you have outdoor plans with dad, enjoy another cozy afternoon with bright skies. Highs are expected to reach the 80s.
8-day forecast: Unfortunately, we will see our wonderful weather pattern quickly come to a halt as warm air reappears to begin the new work week. Although the humidity values seem to remain on the decline for Monday, the highs will climb towards the 90° mark. The sweltering conditions really lock in by next Tuesday to officially start summer, and it will likely be our hottest start to summer in a decade. The next best chance of rain and storms won’t be until next Wednesday. Overall, this forecast is mostly dry for the most part.
