With an interesting plot and a new but familiar world, Minecraft Legends is easily on its way to becoming one of the best looking and best RTS games out there. So let’s go ahead and find out everything you need to know about this new Minecraft game.

Minecraft Legends: Everything You Need to Know (2022)

We’ve covered official gameplay, release date, compatible platforms, features, and more for Minecraft Legends in separate sections. You can freely explore each of them using the table below.

What is Minecraft Legends

Minecraft Legends is an upcoming action-strategy game based on the classic Minecraft world. We got our first look at this game during the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase in mid-June 2022. This game was developed by original Minecraft creator Mojang Studios with Blackbird Interactive.

At first glance, the game may seem similar to Minecraft Dungeons. But leaving aside the similar theme, this title features a distinctive take on the world of Minecraft along with a new style of gameplay similar to games like Age of Empires.

Minecraft Legends release date

Minecraft Legends is should be released in 2023. But the developers have yet to announce an official release date. Assuming the Minecraft 1.20 update release date is late 2022 or early 2023, we expect Minecraft Legends to release in Spring 2023. But stay tuned for an official release date announcement in the next months.

Minecraft Legends story and trailer

According to the Minecraft Blog, the story of Minecraft Legends covers myths that are discussed in overworld villages. No one knows the reality behind them, but you can experience these stories firsthand with this new game. According to myth, overworld creatures (including villagers and Minecraft mobs) had to band together to stop the invasion of the Nether dimension piglins.

Piglins aim to corrupt the overworld with nether functionality, and not just you, but the entire overworld must defend their homeland. So, instead of just presenting the story of the main character, Minecraft Legends keeps the world in focus. You are the force that binds the overworld together, but it is the overworld mobs that work with you to defeat the piglins. The creators have promised to share the depth of the stories within months of the game’s release.

Minecraft Legends Game

In terms of gameplay, Legends borrows from a variety of existing action-strategy games and adds its own twist. He presents us with a third person point of view of the familiar blocky world of Minecraft, but with new features, mobs, biomes, and mechanics in tow. You can explore the overworld to collect resources, complete campaigns, and discover various structures. Some might even give you some Minecraft house ideas for your regular game.

The game isn’t as open-ended as Minecraft, but still offers plenty of unique experiences to keep players entertained for hours. Not to mention, the presence of other players will only make it more interesting.

Multiplayer mode

Yeah, like other real-time strategy games, Minecraft Legends also has a Online Multiplayer PvP and cooperative mode. You can team up with other players to complete campaigns and explore the world. Or other players can try to attack your villages, plunder your resources and challenge you in exciting battles.

Also, there is no information on whether Minecraft Legends will support cross-play or not. Currently, Minecraft (Bedrock) and Minecraft Dungeons support cross-play on all modern platforms. So given the pattern of existing Minecraft games, hopes for cross-play support and cross-play progression are high for this new spin-off.
