Good News About Character Meals at Walt Disney World (and One Concern)

The concept of Disney characters hugging your child brings joy to many Disney fans. This image brings joy to many. Disney theme park characters create real excitement. Some ads make the characters look like they’re just walking around being easy to see. Fans of Walt Disney World know that rarely, if ever, happens. Character meet-and-greet opportunities usually involve a large queue.

One way to avoid those queues is to book a character meal. If meeting specific Disney Character fares is a top priority for your vacation, reserving a Character Meal could save you time in a line. I mean, you have to eat, right? How about a meal and a character meeting and greeting each other at the same time? In most cases, you will encounter multiple characters at these Named Character Meals.

Speaking of which, Walt Disney World has announced that the characters will be returning to three more dining options. Disney Parks Blog announced July 6e that “some of our guest favorite restaurants are gearing up to welcome back popular friends, including Stitch for Breakfast at ‘Ohana at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, Minnie and Friends for Breakfast at Cape May Café at Disney’s Beach Club Resort and Winnie the Pooh and Friends at Crystal Palace in Magic Kingdom park for lunch and dinner.”

Friends of Hundred Acre Woods will return to The Crystal Place in the Magic Kingdom. This happens from September 20e. Ohana Best Friends Breakfast with Lilo and Stitch returns September 27e. Guests can embrace these characters at this Polynesian Resort restaurant from this date. Believe me, I have more to say about that later. The third character meal that reboot resides at Disney’s Beach Club Resort. Cape May Café will add to their buffet everything you want to enjoy a few characters from October 4e.

This all sounds like good news. However, I have a concern. In about a month, I have a breakfast reservation at ‘Ohana. I used a mouse catering service to get the exact time I wanted for breakfast. Plus, I’m going to have dinner there for $25. For a theme park all you want is breakfast, it’s great value. A similar breakfast at Universal Orlando would cost more.

Now I know my buffet breakfast will be $25. However, how much will it cost once the characters return? Based on other Character Breakfasts currently underway at Walt Disney World, the expected price will be $42 for a Character Breakfast. Is $17 expected, good value for money to enjoy the characters.

This decision depends on your group. I suspect most families with young children still offer good value for money. Guess we’ll have to wait for those prices to be announced. If you love Disney characters, you have more choices now. Have fun. As always, eat your way!
