“A Giant Monster Athlete”
July 23, 2022
Yeah, the Bucs lost Rob Gronkowski to retirement (allegedly), but did they find a much cheaper, legit alternative?
All Bucs fans are hoping that will be the case after Tampa Bay signed veteran tight end Kyle Rudolph this week. Joe didn’t hear a soul rip the move. In fact, it seems like a universally appreciated call from general manager Jason Licht.
Joe must be wondering how intense and talkative new Bucs safety/cornerback Logan Ryan approved of Rudolph after playing with him last season on the New York Giants roster.
Anyway, one guy who has faced Rudolph multiple times in the NFC North is former Packers linebacker AJ Hawk. speaking on The Pat McAfee Show, Hawk said the Bucs hit a home run with Rudolph’s signature. What a good signing.
“I’m a fan of Rudolph and the way he plays. A giant monster athlete, though, for people who don’t know or have never seen this guy,” Hawk said. , like what is he 6-6? Jacked. Super smart. Very athletic. Big feet. Big hands. Perfect signing for Tampa Bay.
Hawk also praised Rudolph’s ability in the running game and the red zone.
No, Rudolph isn’t Gronk, and he’s no longer the player he used to be, but he should be invigorated by coming to a loaded Bucs roster with a chance to earn his first Super Bowl ring. If the Bucs get the player described by Hawk, Joe will do spread jumps on Dale Mabry Highway.
