JAMMU, September 19: The 2-day Surinsar-Mansar Festival ended in Mansar with a special rendition of local cultural performances and celebrity musical performances.
Jammu Tourism Director, Vivekanand Rai was the chief guest at the farewell ceremony.
Highlights of the event included musical performances, amazing food, open MIC performances, blogger meet, ATV rally and nature walk. The festival full of excitement, fun, adventure, entertainment, melody, delicious food and a beautiful backdrop left visitors amazed.
Speaking to the media, Tourism Director Jammu said the festival is an elaborate effort by the tourism department to put Mansar Lake on the traveler’s itinerary and must visit list. The idea is to popularize Jammu as a top tourist destination.
The celebration started with the fun adventure activity i.e. mountain biking from Surinsar to Mansar which was reported by Bodh Raj Sarpanch Surinsar. More than 20 participants joined the bike rally which crossed the beautiful road from Surinsar to Mansar and was signaled by Dr. Gurvinder Jit. Singh CEO, SMDA at Mansar.
A painting competition was also held in Mansar where Shivani and Shakti, brought various tourist destinations to life on canvas, adding to everyone’s enjoyment.
In the evening, an open MIC took place. The acts varied between poems, songs and magic where budding artists showed their talent. A bloggers get-together also took place in the evening during which an informal discussion with the famous bloggers was held by Sunaina Sharma Mehta, co-director of Tourism Jammu. She announced that a ‘Sabse Bada Ghumakkar’ photography contest will be held and will be open to all and anyone can register this week to get the entries of photographs clicked by them in all ten districts of Jammu division , highlighting the scenic beauty of the area with a 5o word description with the Jammu Tourism Authority, whose rules/regulations will be announced later.
After selection by a panel of experts, the top three entries will be awarded on World Tourism Day which will be celebrated on September 27. Later in the evening, a scintillating cultural program was organized, featuring high-energy performances by Rinku Ji, Karan Menia, Police Rapper, Dheeraj Kumar, Shumalini Goswami, and more. However, the main highlights of the events were the energetic performance of famous singer Dilpreet Dhillon. The various performances acclaimed the public who appreciated the efforts of the department for the organization of such a great event.
